Steve, the fourth-generation Andrews Auctioneer, grew up around the business. His father (Robert) and uncle (John) owned and operated the Farmerstown Livestock Auction from the mid-1940s until 1986. After graduating from The Ohio State University in 1970 with a B.S. in Animal Science, Steve attended Reppert Auction School and began his career as a full-time professional auctioneer in 1971. Steve is a past president of the Ohio Auctioneers Association and was elected to the Ohio Auctioneers Hall of Fame in 2008. He began his real estate career in 1976 and has successfully marketed rural, residential, and commercial properties at auction for nearly fifty years. He enjoys staying active and relishes his role as more of an advisor as he moves toward the sunset of his career. “It’s just kind of nice to sit back and help guide the process, especially with Andy White, Seth, and the crew at RES taking the auction business to a whole new level.” Of all of Steve’s accomplishments, he is most proud of the opportunity he has had to mentor several young auctioneers who are now having successful careers in the auction business. Those auctioneers include Andy White, his son Seth, Joseph Mast—all of whom are integral parts of RES Auction Services, as well as several others. Steve says, “I’m glad they still let me be involved.” While working alongside Seth in the auction business, they have made a great team ready to make your auction a success with Steve’s experience and Seth’s energy.

Steve and his wife, Peggy, live on a rural property outside of Wooster. They have two sons: Seth, who is in the auction business, and Jason, who works for Paint Valley Equipment and deals in beef show cattle. They stay active and enjoy spending time with their children, grandchildren, and extended family.
