Jake is an Ashland County native who grew up on a 3rd-generation dairy farm. After graduating from Crestview High School, he worked on the family farm before moving to Colorado, where he graduated from the Colorado School of Trades. Once back in Ohio, Jake spent 11 years in the firearm industry before pursuing his true passion—becoming an auctioneer. He earned both his auctioneer’s and real estate licenses in 2018, and in 2019, he took on the role of Chief Operating Officer at RES, overseeing all auction operations. Jake also serves as a Firearms and Equipment Representative, enjoying the wide variety of people and opportunities the auction industry offers. He thrives on the challenge and excitement of each auction, whether it’s connecting buyers with one-of-a-kind items, navigating the fast-paced atmosphere, or collaborating with sellers to get the best results. In his real estate role, Jake helps buyers and sellers through the intricacies of property transactions. He works closely with clients to understand their needs and find the perfect fit, ensuring smooth and successful deals. Outside of work, Jake enjoys spending time with his wife, Leanne, and their children, Emersyn, Willow, and Corbin, attending their sporting events and livestock shows. When he’s not busy with family, Jake enjoys fishing and hunting.
